Dr. Felicia Pressley is a licensed professional counselor and educator with over two decades of experience in counseling, higher education, clinical supervision, and wellness advocacy. She is the founder and clinical director of Pressley Counseling and Wellness, a private practice serving Maryland and Virginia, where she provides compassionate, culturally responsive mental health care for adolescents, families, and adults.
Dr. Pressley holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Auburn University, where her research focused on the impact of parental behaviors on adolescent development. Her expertise spans individual and group counseling, addictions treatment, court-ordered evaluations, and counselor training. She is deeply committed to addressing the emotional wellness of underserved and underrepresented communities.
In higher education, Dr. Pressley is an Associate Professor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She has previously served in leadership roles at Argosy University and taught at institutions such as Shorter University and Auburn University. Her academic service includes mentoring doctoral students, developing CACREP-aligned curriculum, and leading initiatives to strengthen practicum and internship training.
As a scholar, Dr. Pressley has authored multiple encyclopedia entries and academic publications on multicultural counseling, attachment theory, and clinical ethics. She is also a sought-after speaker and workshop facilitator, having presented nationally and internationally on topics such as suicide prevention, counselor burnout, and parenting adolescents in the digital age.
Dr. Pressley is a recognized leader in professional organizations, including the Maryland and Alabama Counseling Associations, where she has held numerous board positions and served as a past president and chair. She has been honored with the ACA Emerging Leader Award and received a research grant from the Alabama Counseling Association.
Driven by a passion for whole-person wellness, Dr. Pressley integrates mindfulness, movement, and culturally competent strategies in her work. Whether in the classroom, therapy room, or on stage, she inspires others to prioritize mental health, embrace growth, and build stronger connections within themselves and their communities.

She will be seeing clients in-person and virtually under the Supervision of Dr. Pressley. She will focus on seeing adults and couples.

To achieve optimal wellness, one must apply it towards every aspect of life. You can apply a wellness approach towards your environment, community, career, belief systems, physical activities, self care, healthy eating, self esteem, and creative activities. Applying wellness in your everyday life will allow you to achieve your full potential and live with passion and purpose. Also helping to address anxiety, re-engagement after an injury, spousal relationship, family relationships while involved in sports.
Choose to live a healthy and fulfilling life. Wellness is more than being free from illness: it is a process of change and growth towards a mentally and physically healthy lifestyle.
